Climate-neutral mobility for the island of Fehmarn
An integrated mobility concept provides Fehmarn with a roadmap intended to enable residents and visitors to travel climate-neutrally by 2030. It covers everyday and leisure travel on the island.
The starting point was a declared climate emergency. The intended fundamental shift in the transport structure required all modes, from commuting to leisure travel, and the need for action on Fehmarn to be examined systematically.
Working with local authorities, spiekermann ingenieure analysed all modes of transport, developed a target system and mobility scenarios for 2030, and translated the results into a prioritised action catalogue. Stakeholder workshops, a citizens' forum, and an evaluation and monitoring framework involved the public and provided a basis for continuous evaluation.
